Swallows And Martins

Although they arrived very late this year, I'v seen more in the skies than ever.
Mostly they are flying very high, is that where most of the flies would be ?

Housemartins are same sort of numbers, the swifts were very late but spent yesterday evening screaming round the block , lovely eye level views sometimes looking down on them. Hardly any swallows this year.
