fairly recently BBC screened in the afternoons a series called 800 words. It was very enjoyable and easy to watch but the series ended with many unanswered questions. Can anyone tell me if there is to be another series or is it just to be another sad failure by the BBC?

There are no dates set as yet to show series 3 on the BBC, keep a watch is the advice.

I thoroughly enjoyed the two series the BBC showed. There has been a third series in Australia and NZ but so far no news that the BBC will be showing it.
Why a "sad failure by the BBC" ?
Agree that this was a great series: well written, well cast and with characters I found I really cared about; quite moving at times. Don't think series 3 has been shown in Oz/NZ yet, but I think the reference to 'failure by the BBC' refers to occasions when they've not continued to show programmes, usually to do with cost. They did this with Mad Men - I'd watched every episode and then they just dropped it without warning.

The BBC are not the only culprits. For example, ITV dropped Dexter, and Channel 4 did not show the final series of Six Feet Under - and I'd watched every episode of that, too!
Maybe Seven Productions.South Pacific Pictures haven't released it to the BBC as yet.
