We've just had a skip delivered today to have a clear out. Bless the men of the house, I'll make them tea.
don't forget to keep the beer cold too ummm :-D

I fell sorry for those who do physical work in this heat, can't be any fun.
Albs...my OH works outside and often with tarmac, he has to wear protective clothing and boots, so he's got the heat from the ground and above....and he's ginger. It's exhausting for him. Luckily he drives a welfare unit which has a fridge so they have plenty of cold water.
We Gingers need to wear Burkhas Ummm, I've been various shades of Neopolitan Ice cream for the last couple of weeks despite trying to slink around in the shadows :/
It can't be healthy.

It's not. My son is a roofer and he's just got home and looks completely done in.
kval, I'm rather fond of neapolitan ice cream :-D x

ummm, I remember some years back Mr Alba (joiner) was working in an HQ where the staff wear all wearing shirts/blouses, air conditioning on at full blast, windows sealed shut and there he was leaping about sorting their suspended ceilings etc - he came home absolutely wabbit
Fed up to the back teeth with it all now, it's wayyy too hot. 20 deg. with a light breeze suits me, not all this clammy, muggy heat. I'm so annoyed about Thursday, I was going out for the day with a friend and taking my little dog, but it's going to be far to hot for her now, so we need a change of plan. Bloody heatwave !! Rant over ...
I won't be doing anything different apart from drinking a bit more.
Raining here and pleased to say its cooled down especially at night.

My son and his family are in the south of France and yesterday it was bucketing down!
This heat wave has made it easier to clear my jungle of a garden. The didn't look impressed, staring at us like we were demolishing his playground.
It wasn't the best day to assemble a sofa, I have to admit. I dread to think what London will be like by Thursday
Can't decide whether the playground she's destroyed belonged to Ummmm's cat or her other half... ;-)
partly because houses in southern Europe are built to deal with heat (thick walls, small windows etc); British houses often aren't.
Too much now, had enough. OH came in from work at 6.30 and has only just started to speak, he was so exhausted he looked ill. Showered and fell asleep til about 10 minutes ago. Works outside, not much fun.
That's not good Horselady......I have looked, out of curiosity, at the laws for factory temperatures and there is no maximum which I found odd till I looked at the reasons.....
But working outside in this heat must be hell..... I sympathise with him......I'm inside in the dark and cool and it's still debilitating...:-(
Mentioned this on facebook
Grandmothers sucking eggs involved
Not necessarily, Daisy....the Met Office issues warnings to health authorities and to individuals when temperatures are likely to affect health issues.
This allows them to have measures in place to deal with an influx of folk who suffer with conditions that this heat will cause problems for...
A general warning is no bad thing.....x
