Hi,
Up until two weeks ago I had been getting highlights in my ,originally fair ,hair every four months for the past five years. As you can imagine it had gotten pretty blonde. Last Saturday week I put in a dye "darkest brown"- which came out black in my hair. This had begun to wash out after two washes but I guess that was just because it was a 6-8 wash dye. The following Thursday I put in a 24 wash dye- again very dark brown.
Basically, what I'm wondering is; after the 24 washes will the colour have washed out completely and , most importantly, will I be back to my previous highlighted colour that I had in my hair before I dyed it dark brown??I really hope it does....!!

Not to sure that it will go back to the highlighted look, its more likely to go a brassy colour. Be very careful what you put on it from now on as going blonde to brown can really damage the hair. My advice would be to go and see a hairdresser to have it sorted out to the colour you want it
Hi headless rat- Im with hectic on this one- I had very blonde hair 6 months ago, and went to a hairdresser to get it a medium brown but it came out black. I hated it so much and the only way I could sort it was to get it stripped. It then went a brassy orange colour, had to live with that for a few weeks then got low peroxide highligts put through the top to try get it blonde again. Im blonde again now but my hair was absolutely destroyed and is only starting to get back to normal now, I had to get loads cut off as well. So my advice is leave it alone now, i dont think it will go back to your previous colour, if you mixed 2 bottles together with the 2nd kit you bought then it will last a good while. If you want it blonde again give it a few weeks to chill out then go to a hairdressers to sort it. And give it weekly deep conditioning treatments as well. Good luck love x

O good God....ehat have i done??!I thought it would be as easy as dying it brown, leaving it for a while and then just getting highlights put back in to make it go back as blonde as it was.... :/ oops!!! do NOT want brassy orange hair in ANY case.....Oh well, we live and learn i guess!!Thanks for the responses.
Im sure you still look lovely with dark hair anyway- treat yourself to some new make up to embrace your new image ! :O)
