Can anyone tell me why you now cant buy fresh beetroot from Tescos. I have been looking for the past few weeks and can only find beets pre-packed? Also where oh where are the avocados gone? I do wish they wouldn't change the position of things.

Re beetroots - maybe all the fresh ones have been dug up and eaten, so the only ones left are those they packaged for us to eat "out of season" :)

Our local Greengrocer (Yes we still have one, although they are a dying breed), sells them, as does Waitrose......

Much nicer cooking them yourself, instead of those pre-packed ones tasting of nothing but vinegar!

I'm sure I've seen them in Sainsbury's too...

Oh but it's difficult to get GOOD avocados! My girlfriend is Mexican and as such I have found that I LOVE guacamole...the problem is with our crappy avocados! They are either really really small (tescos value) or they are bright green and smooth (totally unsuitable) the ones you want are dark, lumpy crocodile skinned and big! Sometimes you will be lucky enough to find an "eat me keep me" pack, they are generally good but I just want a reliable source of good quality avocados! Drives me mad!

Dont know your area, Prigmore, but down here in Pembrokeshire I too couldnt get avocados last weekend. Tried two Tesco outlets and Morrisons - none. Only ones I found were in Kwiksave, and they were V underripe.

My Tesco sells fresh beetroot. Also at the moment avocados are abundant and Tesco are doing 2 for a �1.

Thanks found like you say plenty of avocados but still no fresh beetroot at my nearest Tescos. Have found a supply at a local farm but bet its more expensive.
