Brain Fog??

The past couple of weeks I have been literally forgetting my words during conversation- but this isn't the weirdest thing. Rather than a pause whilst I try and find the word, my brain chooses another word which is similar but wrong. I have been doing a new diet at the same diet (5:3) which may have made me a bit wibbly, but it's still worrying when I don't seem to have the right words. Yesterday I said "I have an awful face" instead of "I have an awful name for faces"- words getting mixed round the wrong way. I'm 48- could it be hormonal?

and I bet you didn't mean I have an awful name for faces either :) yes indeed it could be hormonal...have you got amy other symptoms of menopause? if you are doing very low calorie days it could also be that.
If it is I must've been hormonal for the last few years.
I put it down to gradually going gaga.
Are you a bit more stressed than usual at the moment ?

I'm a bit stressed but not hugely, it feels more like my brain just doesn't have enough juice to function well or clearly!
If you are dehydrated (easily done in this weather) and your blood sugars are low (quite possible when followind a dietary regime) then it is entirely possible that you will experience a lack in concentration. Changing hormones can also be a factor and I would hazard a guess that it is multi-factorial.

You're a little bit young for dementia, but just monitor the situation. If you got lost whilst driving home or suddenly thought about paying a visit to an aunt who died a few years ago, that's the time to worry :)
Brain fog isn't uncommon in perimenaupose
Arrgghhh...
Peri-menopause
How'd that happen?
Sometime I have a problem trying to remember my worms
