Absolutely over the top reaction. Not an excuse in any way but perhaps an explanation - I guess the the police are on edge anytime anywhere these days in case they miss something that leads to something else.
The 3rd police officer had a body camera on. No sign of it yet though ?
I'd like to think a refresher course has been booked at "Common Sense 101".
If it had been a pair of scissors that she was using to cut dandelion leaves, I wonder if she would have been seen as such a threat.

LadyCG...both my Italian grandmother, and my Cuban SIL's mother spent decades in the US. Neither was ever proficient or comfortable speaking English. And what more do you think there is to the story?

so if he ( dear sqad that is!) has difficulty in an appendicectomy in an ill unstable three year old he turns to his nearest junior - abdul himdu lillah or someone ( all the kirstie McBrides and Jarnet McPhairsons have long since sashayed to Oz and NZ) - and hands him a machete and says - this situation I need help ....
and er stands back .... whilst the new hand er lends a hand

same result - zapped patient who now needs er further help.
