Small Spudiators

I've asked about my aborted attempt to grow spuds already, and eventually shoved them in various bags hoping to plant them again next Spring. Been meaning to check up on them, and just have. Most were ok, took away a few soft ones.
But the purple ones I've questions about. The minor question is whether it is ok that some seem to be sprouting already.
Of more concern is that there were three going soft. I first noticed tacky areas on otherwise decent spuds and wondered what that was telling me. Then I started finding ones going soft, one in particular had been leaking in the bag. I've removed them, but what do I do with the others ? Do they need washing or something ? Spraying maybe ? I don't want them all infected with whatever was wrong.
Cheers.
