I'll bump this back onto Latest Posts for LadyCG as I'd be interested too , having been there
I am in no hurry to go back.

Swimming in the Adriatic ok (very easy to float, must have helped the ship-jumper) the lack of swimming rivers around us was disappointing.
Plitvice lakes very nice but I wouldn't mak a special journey to get there.

Their lidl is overpriced.
The villa was awesome but a lack of surrounding nightlife didn't help.

Many, many empty properties throughout the length and depth of Croatia. (no I won't say it)

I am surprised, Talbot. I loved the place, noted how pristine, litter-free and grafitti-free the towns were and the food was awesome.

Did you try the Muscat? It's as pure as the driven snow.

I found the people the friendliest I've ever encountered anyway.

I can't wait to go back, but I'll probably venture down to Split next time. The North is too much of a temperate climate.

Watched a bloke throw his rubbish over someone's garden wall after he had done his shopping.

Friendly enough but not the friendliest people I have ever met.

Muscat...nope.

Split is far too busy.

Each to their own I guess.

Split wasn’t busy when we went in mid May and the weather was great.
We have been twice now Porec in the North and Just home from Cavtat in South. Loved both. weather really hot, hotels lovely Dubrovnik old town is stunning. People very friendly. Food lovely. Husband and bro in law found a beer local to Croatia called Tomislav and although is is a dark stout like beer, both said best ever tasted. Would go back anytime
I could live there. I love it.

We went to Porec in June 2016 and we loved it. We took trips to Plitvice and Venice. The town was lovely and there were a few lovely looking restaurants and some nice bars tucked away up charming little streets. A carafe of wine was only something like £4 and the platter-style food was exceptional and such good value for money.

I'd go back in a heartbeat but I want to explore other parts of the country before I return to Porec.

For those who don't know, Croatia has (I think) more national parks per capita than any other country in the world.
