a compressed air bottle of 0.3m^3 volume contains air at 35 bar, 40 °C.this air is used to drive a turbo generator supplying power to a device which consumes 5W. CALCULATE TIME FOR WHICH THE DEVICE CAN BE OPERATED IF THE ACTUAL OUTPUT OF THE TURBO GENERATOR IS 60% OF THE MAXIMUM THEORETICAL OUTPUT. THE AMBIENT PRESSURE TO WHICH THE TANK PRESSURE HAS FALLEN IS 1 BAR. FOR AIR γ=1.5 & STATE ANY ASSUMPTIONS IF MADE.

There was a Dr Who episode about the Sisterhood of Khan
and I note there is an arabic verb system - kan wa ukhtiha - Kan and her sisters
er right the prob - they give you gamma ( 1.5 ) so you need to use the formula for adiabatic expansion. p.v to the gamma. The pressure drop is going to be 34 bar
and this gives you the work done
http:// hyperph ysics.p hy-astr .gsu.ed u/hbase /thermo /adiab. html
say it is x - then you can use 0.6 of x - and you are gonna consume at 5W or 5 j s-1
so divide by five and it will give you the number of seconds you can run it for
I think
I didnt do engineering thermodynamics at uni
I um er did medicine and law
there may be an engineer knocking around ( not drinking in a pub or playing sport)
you should be thankful you are not doing this is FPS units
