Old theatre? Or shaky memory!
I seem to remember that I was taken by my parents to see an original old theatre (Elizabethan? Restoration? Georgian?) which wasn't functioning as a theatre at the time, which would have been late 1950s - mid 1960s(ish). All I can remember is something of the interior and the fact that the outside walls seemed very high. I've no way of asking now where it might have been - can anyone place it for me?

My visual memory is of walking up a narrow street towards a tall, dark (wood?) building, possibly round or at least with curved walls. I know that would suggest Elizabethan, but as far as I am aware, there were no theatres of that period still standing.
As to what part of the country, it could be almost anywhere. My History teacher father used to take us all over the place looking at interesting buildings and this one sticks in my memory. However, we are going back around fifty years, so my memory may be confusing me!
