my kitchen extension wall was built [before i moved in] right up to the boundary. My neighbours are growing some plant up it which has reached the top of the wall which may or may not be getting in under the flat roof. Also I don't know what is at the bottom of the wall or if they have put anything that covers the damp proof course line. They are not very nice people and have been even worse since I was widowed so I don't feel that I can approach them myself . I recently asked if workmen could come round to their garden to put some cavity wall insulation in the kitchen wall but they wanted to "come to some arrangement" so I didn't bother to pursue it. Because of their unhelpful attitude I now feel that I want to get this plant off my wall but don't know if I have any rights as it's only a plant and I don't know for definate if it is causing problems to my property.

If it's your wall, on your side of the boundary ..ask them politely to remove the plant ...otherwise get a solicitor onto it ...they can't legally grow a plant up your wall
pour something out the window onto its roots. they;ll never know and problem solved
Ours is very similar. Our neighbour has ivy growing up our wall which has grown under the flat roof and now leaks whenever it rains heavy. My neighbours however are totally different from yours and are in the process of killing it. You need to sort this before any damage is done to your flat roof.
