Today I tried to make a phone call using my spare phone to the doctor and I couldn't make a call as there was no credits. So I checked the phone's call log details, and balance of the credit by using the 2732 text service. The balance was showing £0. I then checked further details, the balance was reduced from £7.50 to £5 last month with the date and eventually to £0. I then checked the date and time on the phone's call log menu. There were a few calls with a mobile and land line number being logged. But the calls were all CANCELLED, so its not showing as connected. But the credits were taking. Other credits were taken on other dates and hence left with £0.

I phoned Asda to enquire what was going on and they said they don;t have any record showing any calls being made. So I asked how my call credits were disappearing and they can;t explained.

I asked if they could look into it and they said there is no issue. They just told me to scrap the SIM card and go to another network so they don't need to deal with my enquiry.

What do you people think? Is this a network scam?

Just to add that I did not made those calls when it logged as CANCELLED. Those numbers are not in my contact list. This is a spare phone I and use it. Only as a backup.
When did you last use the phone? Because of the limited number of numbers available, SIMs expire after a period of non-usage and the number is returned to the pool to be available for re-issue. I can't remember if it's 3 or 6 months but I lost credit on a Vodaphone SIM some time ago because of that.

Its being used once a month on text to ensure it does not expires as you said. These cost me penny. I can see the log on the text message that's corresponds to my usage.
Any spam calls on it? Hitting the wrong button at the end of one of those can cost you money.
