Not withstanding the newer firms doing cheap "funerals" for just over a grand, surely the local authorities own the crematoria anyway, I don;t see why this is such an expense. Once body cleared for disposal, in the oven, sorted. Anyone with more direct knowledge shed any light?

All I am saying is that councils should be able to dispose of bodies legally much cheaper, in fact we all should, in fact I actually outline my own wishes above. try reading what is written.

You now seem to have moved on to my terminology of undertakers, those who make money by emotionally blackmailing the bereaved to spend a fortune on disposing of a body.
