Another set of lyrics folks - this was early 1970's, male vocalist. I can actually remember most of the lyrics but I just cannot find out what it was called and who sang it. Please help me!!! Some of the lines (as far as I recall) went:-

Got fleas in the bedroom
Got flies in the bathroom
And the cat just finished off the bread
So I walk over Soho
And I read about Monroe
And I wonder was she really what they said.

Got a call from a good friend
Come on down for the weekend
Didn't know if I could spare the time
Mama if I keep my nose clean
Will I really have a good dream
Or will I wake in confusion just the same.

The song is called "Pinball" by Brian Protheroe, a British singer/composer/actor. It was his only charted single.

Cheers Sinai - as it happens my smarty pants wife just found it on google - probably hit the same site as you ;-)
Larkin - It's one of those songs that was on the radio a lot when when I was a kid listening to the radio a lot... They just stick in your memory. Dunno how old you are but if you like music you'll probably have the same experience at some time in your life. It's nice. Now I'm off to try and download it.
