The Retrocop thread was stating (in a deliberately provocative way) that certain demographic groups (let's call them A) are disproportionately like to commit, or be the victims of, certain types of crime. Which is obviously true in the example he presented.
The cheep observation made in Canary's OP is that exactly the same type of crimes are committed by, and affect, members of other demographic groups (let's call them B). This, too, is obviously true.
Canary (who has a GCSE in joined up thinking) concludes, therefore, that Bs are just as likely to be perpetrators or victims as As.
You're not going to get an alpha plus for that, are you?
