Crowdie and Cream (1982)
Crotal and White (1983)
The Corncrake and the Lysander (1985).[1]
Finlay J MacDonald.
About a lad growing up on the depression era Isle of Harris. Uplifting, I found.

George by Emlyn Williams
More 'poverty porn' only in (you'll never guess) Wales. ;-)
Damned to Fame by Jim Knowlson. About Samuel Beckett. You probably have to be a fan tho :-)
Or “Axel” by the late great Anthony Foley. At the other end of the scale.
Also set in Limerick: Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt, although it’s hotly debated how much of that is authentic. Still a good read.
Generally I don’t care for aurobiographies tho :-)
