Well, I assume "day 1" to be the day A50 was triggered. There were thus nine months for the government to formulate its approach to the negotiations so that they could be presented on "Day 1"
"...and secondly we *did* set out our terms -- or, rather, Theresa May did. Unfortunately, those terms, which actually got a good deal of support at the time, didn't lead anywhere brilliant."
They might have done had Mrs May not capitulated at virtually every juncture (though personally I doubt it).

calm down ich that would need an act of parliament and even then it would need the EU to agree to perpetual extensions. I suspect it would be declared Ultra Vires anyway. It'll be another, we think gravity should stop working type indicative vote anyway. Even Barmpot is now saying no deal is looking likely. I've said it many times, simply declaring you don't want no deal does not stop no deal.
"There’s a bill up for debate tomorrow -if selected - which attempts to make a No Deal Brexit illegal"
Then they will have to get it through the Commons and the Lords (and be given Royal Assent) by Friday week, then. Unless of course its promoters are thinking of asking the EU to grant a lengthy extension).

Yes danny, I am aware that they have already agreed to May's remainer anti-Brexit deal if she can get it through parliament. That's why I've stated, "No-deal (in the absence of the EU suddenly becoming reasonable) is the only exit option left." And to make things worse she's now shown her true colours and threatened to talk to the leader of the party most trying to thwart Brexit. It's beginning to look as if she needs to go soonest. Perhaps we can drop out of the EU while they decide who to put in as PM next.
