"I so want to win this. No amount of punches, milkshakes, attacks or anything is going to stop me." - Tommy Robinson

Seems Tommy himself isn't fazed about the retaliation to his campaign.

Didn't look that way with his own retaliations.

But apparently he may have broke electoral law anyhow by offering free burgers. The gift that keeps on giving.

"The rally had offered free burgers and hot dogs from a catering van, until the former English Defence League leader announced he had to stop giving away food after a call from police to tell him this broke electoral law on inducements to vote."

Tommy has a range of criminal convictions under his belt, from Football Hooliganism to Mortgage Fraud, not to mention contempt of Court ( For which he may return to chokey ) and a false accusation against Cambridge Police which cast him £85,000. Who better to represent the areas of Rochdale, an Blackburn. It’s PR so he might just scrape in. Better to be...

I really can't understand why this Robinson bloke doesn't take a look at Anjem Choudary's behaviour and techniques and tone down his rhetoric a little.
Yes it does but I can't rake up examples (John Prescott for example, Jeremy Corbyn)
In my local council elections in leafy Dorset last week a female Cons was canvassing in a village and tripped and fell badly in someone's drive, bleeding she went to the door to ask for help and a plaster etc - said door was shut in her face with 'no I vote labour'.
There are people with strong views everywhere, none of them have the right to physically attack someone because of them - that's what a democracy is.

Tommy could easily persuade me, if he wasn't such a little child, getting all red faced, stroppy and angry trying to get his points out. Also if half the tripe he came out with wasn't some prejudiced sweeping statements of racism, i might be open to listening to him, but the way he articulates is thuggish and has the attitude of being on a school playground.

If he calmed down and didn't act so pompously irritated i might bare to look at his face let alone listen to what he's saying.

He created his reputation, he made his bed, and now he's laying in it.

Well Tommy has attacked the Muslim community and everyone who supports or has ever supported Islam. He lost all sympathy when he became a notoriously violent criminal.
spath - // "Would you'batter him' if he canvassed in your town centre?"

No, but doesn't stop me from applauding those that do.

Oh tommy is the victim of assault? Considering he was convicted on more than two accounts, he should be use to that style of things.

The guys an aggravator, when you aggravate you get hit. Literally, people learn that in primary school. Maybe he should stop? //

You cannot on the one hand condemn 'Tommy Robinson' for physical violence, and then applaud people who visit similar violence on him - that simply makes you a supporter of violence, which is what you condemn 'Tommy Robinson' and his thugs for.

If you want to take a moral stance against violence, then you have to apply to everyone, even people whom you believe are not worthy of it - to do otherwise removes your right to condemn something on one hand, when you support it on the other.

You have to establish a position and stick to it - it's not variable depending on whether or not you think people hitting 'Tommy Robinson' is a better way to behave than when 'Tommy Robinson' hits someone else.
Any Brexit Party candidate is guaranteed my vote.
Have read through the list of candidates for our area and was pleased to see Ann Widdecombe was standing.Well you've got one vote Ann.
We need a few more battleaxes like Widders.
It's difficult for Tommy or anyone in Britain with the BBC and Daily Mail et al lying and distorting what is being said;
A very interesting clip, Khandro; however, those that possess an almost pathological antipathy of, or towards, Tommy Robinson (without the demeaning inverted comas.) will slice and dice it to their own interpretations, extrapolations, interpolations and all kinds of ations. It would not surprise me in the least if one, or more, of these people would fixate upon the pronunciation of "Gibraltar".
Hah! Perhaps I shouldn't mention that I meant "commas" when I typed "comas" as the latter word is perhaps more descriptive of the state that his detractors exist.
sanmac - // … towards, Tommy Robinson (without the demeaning inverted comas … //

What is 'demeaning' about using inverted commas for 'Tommy Robinson'? It's not his name, so it is reasonable to point out that a man who apparently wishes to be taken seriously as a candidate for the European parliament, goes around using the name of a football hooligan instead of his own.

If it is 'demeaning', then 'Tommy Robinson' has no-one to blame but himself for proceeding to adopt such a fatuous persona in the first place.

I am willing to be that his application papers do not use that clown moniker!

I literally just did, because Tommy wants to be an MEP, the public members don't. If tommy wasn't running for MEP or have some other political agenda then let him live his life in peace, but he's not.. He has a political agenda and this is the power of the people. The random public people.

An MEP should uphold a higher standard and quality than a random member of the public, if you disagree then we will agree to disagree.

If I am interpreting your posts correctly, you appear to be saying that because 'Tommy Robinson' is campaigning for office, then he is at the mercy of people who wish to assault him, but because of that situation, he should not retaliate on the basis that he is campaigning for office - that boils down to it being OK for people to hit him, but not for him to hit back.

My position is that firstly, no-one should be hitting anyone at all, and the fact that one is running for office does not deny him the protection of law, or give sanction for others, including him, to break that law.

You are right, we will have to differ.
