What a great story tambo and brilliant pics. Now ...

Robins have 2 broods in a season and occasionally 3!

She is very likely to return to the nest in a few days, add a few layers to it and spruce it up a bit before laying another batch of eggs. If its not there or her entry point has been sealed up she will head off and look for a new nesting site.

What will you do next?
I enjoyed the photos etc. tambo, isn't the nest in itself a work of art, to think a little bird made something so sturdy - thanks for sharing, you had some great pics - well done you

I cleared the nest, then read Mayups comment & replaced nest, in case Ms Robin needs to use it.
Very envious! I’ve never had a robin’s nest anywhere, but have got blue tits in a box next to my patio door, for the second year so I do feel blessed.
How I hope she doesnt let you down now Tambo!

We have robins in the garden and they have never missed a years nesting. Each year its a new nest in a new site, but they dont stray far. Robin spent the whole of today singing from the tree, just broke a couple of times to hop on and off our lawnmower handle and to feed on the lawn. I can only assume this is the time between broods.
