Do you think that the real people behind all this Brexit delay and chaos are the civil servants, who really pull the strings and co-erce the Prime Minister and pro Brexit negotiators into doing their will ? Not that TM need much co-ersion !

It also depends what you mean by “Civil Servants”
Many of the issues NJ mentions above are advised on by government departments with experts in their field, from the food scientists of DEFRA to the mathematicians of NCSC.
I derive little comfort from the idea of the likes of Chris Grayling etc, casually overriding advice from these people for “other” reasons.

Hopefully not, ludders, because it leaves them in just the same EU colony as those who want to leave. However, given the choice of leaving (properly) or leaving under this "deal" I imagine (though don't know) that most Remainers would choose the deal.
