I fail to see the options you say are available to the MEPs.

At the start of the new Parliament the MEPs will take their seats and get paid unless the people who could ensure the seats don't exist (Westminster MPs) agree to a withdrawal before that date. MEPs have no say in the matter.

Likewise, Westminster may act in a way to ensure the seats exist after Oct 31st.
