The line across the top of my screen on both my (synchronised) mail accounts has disappeared therefore I cannot min/maximise or shut the window. I have been using ctl/alt/delete to get out of it. Have googled what to do with no luck at all. Running windows 8.1 and the windows tile on my task bar is no longer live. Any suggestions please. Thank you

No problem RSVP, hopefully someone will figure out the dilemma here and provide some info.
Does f11 work on other screens?

I'm touching nothing Jackdaw!!!!! decided to sign out and sign in again and not only have the errant buttons re-appeared but the windows tile is now live. Cup of tea time I think....stay well
Well done RSVP, sounds like all is sorted! You would be surprised at how many times turning off and on again (or closing and re-opening) will sort out a tech issue. It's almost like telling your PC/TECH to go to sleep and wake up again in the morning.

I haven,t been on here very much for absolutely ages - had forgotten what a lot of thoroughly nice people contributed to AB - nice to be reminded....stay well
Not surprised. I used to work as a manager in a call centre, which handled calls for BT Broadband and Vision. You'd be amazed at the number of times the simple advice: Power down, wait one minute then power up again solved so many problems.
What a lovely sentiment, keep well also RSVP.
