If you are just going to doctors for review of prescriptions or anything for that matter - would you look well. ie put your makeup on, do your eyes, curl your hair. Or go in plain dowdy.
Don't know if it is a good thing or not to look good - one of the receptionists (lovely girl) said oh Jenny you always look good and you have always your lipstick on. Aren't you supposed to look sick re doctor's LOL

well I just noticed this morning on the way to doctor's room - that one of the receptionists is now taking blood - jeepers creepers.
I did ask my lovely receptionist - is she taking blood now - a receptionist - the lovely receptionist couldn't help but laugh.
Yes yes I know they do have to be trained but somehow I wonder when they just stick the needle in and say "oh hope that didn't hurt" - oh yeah it did LOL

Ellena......mostly I self diagnose.....that is for conditions that are self limiting or trivial. I also have the same principal attitude towards Mrs sqad.
Do I question the Drs management of my problems?
If i agree with the Dr and his handling of my problems, then i do not in anyway question it....HOWEVER if i am not happy or convinced that he/she is on the right lines, then I do indeed question it whether it be a GP or a Consultant and have done on many, many occasions throughout my life and will continue to do so.
There is nobody who has the intense consideration for my health, than me.

Our surgery guarantees same day appointments are always available as long as you don't mind which of the 6 GPs you see. I walked in at 10.00am recently to ask for an appointment and the receptionist was extremely apologetic that all of the morning slots had gone, so she offered me an appointment at 4.50pm. I arrived at 4.48pm and by 5.02pm, I'd checked in via the electronic system, been called into the doctor's surgery, had my prescription sent electronically to the pharmacy, left the surgery, visited the loo to provide a sample and handed it in at reception, visited the pharmacy and collected my prescription. That seems like a very efficient system to me.
To answer the original question though, I just turn up at the docs 'as I am'.

and he was given ( I am 60 and a bit ) to saying to teenagers - acne, or itchy nose or receding hairline ( in the patient and not him, silly ! ) I have to examine your genitals....
v quick - - 5 d after complaint apparently
oh yeah and the other one

hey when I was in court ( not guilty again readers - no no- I was a witness ) someone turned up for a court case in painters' overalls
clearly out to impress the judge and we thought it must be ... family court, custody and a no hoper ....
after I relapsed ( lymphoma ) I asked what now....
