I don't get it. What's going on with all these aliases? Monkeys, Maria's, etc etc. I'm completely confused and don't know who to answer or what to say to any questions or answers for fear of being lynched!!! Why can't the ED put a stop to aliases once and for all - I'm starting to loathe AB - it's just a mission trying to get anywhere!!! Anyone else frustrated by it?

No not at all. A question was asked and received many answers. I think it only became a 'joke' question when the Qer realised that everyone's opinion to the Q was that the suggested action of revenge was immature and irresponsible.

I got zapped, w/e before last, for having posted a Q asking where Pippa was (hadn't seen her on here since my earlier demise as n00dles). With all the other lighthearted Q's asking where "...." or "...." is or if they managed to do "..." yesterday, and thanking someone for e-mailing them, it makes you wonder why I was targeted. Sparky, bless, him actually posted on here to say whatever has happened to "me" and had a response from others asking why I should have had my Q banned/zapped. In fact ktlou, I had 2 Q's zapped that day! However, having been sent to purgatory, I created another alias (pain in the ****) had to set up another e-mail addy. Then created another because whoever was gunning for me was not going to win! I was determined not to get exterminated!!

Most have guessed who I am when I've used my temp names, after all I have dropped hints!! One person knew immediately because of my 'temp' name.

Having said that, I must admit that when I first signed on here there was a bit of tension and mistrust, due to SR causing a stir. It was not until a Q appeared on here regarding scooters/invalid chairs that I answered and received a lovely response from Pippa, making me feel that I had finally "arrived" and "welcomed".

aaaah Noodles, I knew it was you from early on too!! Do people just come on here to wind people up do you think?They go around reporting questions like anything, posting ridiculous questions and answers and then get annoyed when accused of being newbies/greenies/trolls etc!! What do they expect! I'm not saying it's all greenies/newbies either, there are some users who've been around for a while who make trouble too!! Will your old username come back do you think or will you always be tictactoe?

Thats what I thought too octavious as it looked like she was being very serious as she said she was in a naughty mood, then it was 'cant anyone take a joke'. etc.

Well I asked the powers that be if I could have my "old" name back (I hastely de-registered it - as I had been naughty). Ed e-mailed a reply saying that I would have to de-reg tictac, then re-sign on. Then went on to say that he/she did not think that I should do that!?!?!?

Attempted to re-reg under n00dles - it said that this name was already in use!!!!!!

although the more obvious aliases and variations are annoying, it becomes apparent in a short space of time who they really are (chimp, sr et al). What I find more sinister are those on AB who have a huge number of aliases but actually keep them all fairly separate and distinct and indeed, have converations between their aliases, without anyone catching on. Worse still, I know of some who use these aliases to report threads they disapprove of, taking them over the "three reports and youre removed" rule when actually, only one small minded individual is unhappy with the post. These "secret" aliases are just as detrimental to the long term ambience of the site as the more surious in your face types I think and I sincerely iwhs AB Ed and the team would do something to stop this use of aliases.

Some actually talk to themselves? Are they to be pittied? Are they sad, or what? Are they the 'only' ones that will reply to (dare I say it) themselves?!?

Crikey, know there are quite a few fruit cakes about (they say there are more 'out' than 'in') but typing up a post to answer yourself, well that takes the biscuit.

crumbs n00dles, I know! Some folk like to have their cake and eat it too, tho I think they're nuts. And we're not talking newbies here, many of those holding multiple aliases are long-term long time AB members who use said aliases to work the system. Hard cheese for those who don't like it tho as it seems AB Ed et al are unwilling to help erradicate these pest(o)s.

When they mess up their id's agreeing with their alter egos, it is car crash AB at it's very best! I was away for this,was it very bad? I am not frustrated, when they out themselves, they show themselves up big time! I just mentally add their name to my 'Oprah' files. I understand when people have a couple of names to negate being zapped by the AB vigilante posse that is a horse of a different colour entirely.

ktlou, yes, he was Zeus. Silly beggar kept getting zapped and having to change IDs. But Zorro was his super hero mode, I liked Zorro lol

everyone hated me when I was Zeus...I think they thought the name was pretentious..so i changed it. Only really had 3 long term names Zeus , Zorro and Cobra..plus several temp names when I got zapped or was bored on a Fri night .
