Need help:
Clues have an extra letter in wordplay.
34d. Delirious cries from Dawn, welcoming promise to pay up (5)
29d. Max had this name long ago – rang a bell when we heard it (6) Extra letter could be T.
39d. Deadly snakes Indian ascetic made to rear with rising note (4)
Naia? What is the parsing?
Also the assertion stops at 32d. Leaving 4 clues for initial of the speaker/writer. But he has only 3 initials.
I have no idea about the two words in the grid the preamble mentions.
Thanks

I knew 34d with v in second position. I should have looked up the alternate spelling.
I guess suffix is counted as one of the 4 letters.
I still cannot parse 39d.
My cross letters give me 29d as two words.
I also cannot parse 17a and 43a. But have the answers.
I found two examples in the grid, both 3 words.
