I'm tootling along quite well. I've got the words from both the across and down clues & have the mystery hidden in the grid. However, I can't find the 'man behind' the mysteries and do I start the perimeter in the top left hand corner?
Also need help with a couple of clues: 3 down: Interjection from leaderless section of Westminster (3) ?H? and 15 down: Maybe Inquisitor dismisses angry phrase (4) ?O?D (I think these clues are 'normal)
Is it me - or some of the perimeter words 'short'?
i.e. silks = SILK, blood lines = B??? lines
Also 12 across: Do they produce more tangles from uncovered wool one Angora's shed right way? (7) I've got OOG?NIA - obviously wrong!!!
Wish I was clever like all of you (but I do try!!!)
If your 'Silk' is on the top row, it's Risk. I think your other one might be a hybrid! The first four-letters you've given are one answer, the L?N?...is the start of another.
Nearly there!
just need help with: 9 across: Grey finished maiden (3) DI? (is it dim?) 17 across Norm, one who might drop in shortly? (4) I make the extra letter T PAR? (is it para?) 20 across: extra letter T. Casual, turbulent teen in engineers old tale (4) RE?E (is it rede?)
I've got everything else but can't find the mans name in the perimeter (I know who it is DF) but just can't find him changing two letters.
Hope this lot makes sense!!!!
Ripper, you're not changing two letters, you've to change two mysteries. Where you had Silk is where to start! I'm in a rush, so yes to Para, and Rede for 20 - RE, engineers with (t)ed inside.
