about january, this year i bought the HARMAN JBL CREATURE 2 SPEAKERS, i decided to get them from amazon because they were a decent price.(Brand new)I use them frequently and at a fairly loud volume.Just recently the two mini speakers have started crackling quite loudly, and i can no longer turn the volume up very loud any more because it just sounds.....,well c**p basically! I've tried unplugging the system and cleaning in and around the speakers and computer but its just the same crackling ,does this sound as though i've broken them or is there a way they can be fixed?

Perhaps the voice coil has come loose from the cone. This happened to a pair I had (quite a while back). No fix, I was told.
The answer above sounds about right; You have to remember, when using speakers, their power handling ability should be at least a bit higher than the power wattage going into them or in a short time they'll blow! I hope some one can perhaps explain it a bit better (?)
I have had speakers re-coned a long time ago, but these days maybe it makes more sence to chuck 'em and get some others; like I say, we need someone with a more technical offering here, volunteers?
