Another couple stranded abroad because they travelled to the US whilst she was pregnant and the baby came 3 months early. I understand this is a very difficult situation for them but they have made it a thousand times worse by travelling without insurance. As the insurance would have cost them £4k why did they insist on the holiday at that time?

But why bother when they can simply set up a begging page so total strangers can foot the bill. I makes me spit - why can't they take responsibility for themselves?

I agree with you anyway. I wouldn't donate to a 'gofundme' page for a complete stranger when they could have taken out insurance.
We funded a boat a few years ago.

Youngsters make errors & prem babe might be due to flight etc.
We are going to France next week Thursday to Monday.
OH was quoted £398 travel insurance for this. He was also quoted £1400 for a yearly policy.
Compassion fatigue gets to us all at some point, it becomes very difficult to support all.

I wish them all the best and hope Lilly comes through.
