Battery V Petrol

As the technology evolves and improves, more and more I'm becoming more convinced that cordless, battery charged garden machinery must be the way forward.
Just think: 0 emissions, no fuel cans to fill up and store, no spillage to worry about, easy starting, lower noise levels, compact and easy to store. Whats not to like ?.
I'm hoping UK manufacturers will wake up and smell the coffee!

OG battery products are pretty good now. I thought i'd need to charge my cobera daily. And yes two batteries is a good idea anyway!

Chip i've been there for a while. I have a battery cobera mower it's fantastic! So quiet also.. I could cut the grass at 7am on a sunday and my neigbours would be none the wiser!
Now that's a mower... Imagine the potential and ease in a hedge trimmer :O
When my one packs in i'll be going battery for sure.

The emissions are back at the power station. Unconvinced about cordless tools. Smaller ones I've tried lack sufficient power. Batteries do run out, maybe half way through doing something and are not instantly chargeable so that means buying more than one. And need replacing more often than a lead. Maybe we'll see in a decade or two.
Actually .... modern batteries really do provide enough power. The smaller, and usually cheapo power tools are still being powered by old-type Nickel-Cadmium cells. Pretty good, but soon run out of power.
Next time you pass a scaffolding rig around a building, don't be alarmed by the fact that it was all put together with a cordless 18volt Lithium-Ion drill.
Steel-framed buildings are the same. No spanners, just cordless with a socket on the end.
