I'm thinking of buying a strimmer now my mower has packed up. I don't get much time to cut the grass and it tends to get long and stays wet forever. Anyone know which is a good make of strimmer?

Stihl or 4 stroke Honda
I would go for a petrol as they are more powerful and portable. Some recommendations here you will need pay a £1 just remember to cancel before trial period ends.

Have you thought of getting a robot mower?
Mine is a 4 stroke Honda with brush cutter attachment. Ideal for jungle clearing.
Mowers are mowers and strimmers are strimmers and never the twine shall meet!

(Sorry,me pills are kicking in) ;-)
I tend to avoid petrol. Bad enough having to store petrol but frustrating embarrassing exhausting continually trying to fire the darn things up.
If you are talking petrol powered, then Ryzen has already stated the best options .. if you are talking battery powered then Stihl or Husqvarna would be my choice.
Think about it .. every time you see a groundworker or contractor using a petrol powered tool , 9 times out of ten .. it is coloured orange and white .. that equates to a Stihl tool.
If you are thinking electric then .. who knows.
I have had a Stihl petrol strimmer for 5 years and it has always started first or second pull. If I wanted to sell it today, I will more or less get my money back for it.

You could always buy a cheap sub £90 chinese one from the many retailers who stock them and then throw it away next year when it wont start and it will cost at least £50 to have someone look at it.
Like everything in life, you get what you pay for.

I prefer a mains electric, Thanks for all the suggestions.
Johnk think electric strimmer will struggle with long wet grass. The other alternative is to hire a petrol for brush cutting for a day to get your grass down initially then use an electric strimmer and try to use it regularly.
Ego lithium ion cordless trimmer or better still a mower of the same type. The way forward to my mind.
Efco petrol light weight ideal for what you want, and not to expensive.
