I keep my vodka in the freezer and this evening going to make a drink for my friend she says that the vodka is no good as it was frozen and came out like a slushy.
What do you reckon? it's Smirnoff.
Even minimum strength vodka (37.5%) wouldn't freeze at normal freezer temperature (-18C)....so either your freezer is much colder than it should be....or, the vodka isn't as strong as it should be.
And the answer to the question "why would you put it in the freezer?" is simply...that's commonly done in the "vodka belt".
Smirnoff is quite a good vodka actually. Though to my taste, you shouldn't really store it in the freezer. Have ever noticed how the beverage is stored in shops and restaurants? Nowadays it is stored within coolers like this https://nexocoolers.com/connected-coolers/. I would also recommend to not keep gin and ale in freezers as well because they can also become 'slushy'.
