Wrong, the pronunciation is Brr-no. Bernoh (anglospeak: Burnoh ?) would be like espeak for speak, estop for stop, Mörkel for Merkel, etc.

Funny you should mention Merkel, I went to the Merkel factory in Suhl shortly after the wall came down and watched the engravers (amongst other things), absolutely riveting.
