An enjoyable workout, albeit that we spotted the thematic words virtually from the off. Back to finish off 4574, having been away most of the week.

Yes, an easier one this week. No problems regarding what's required for submission (unlike said 4574, it seems).

Thanks to Augeas for an entertaining puzzle.
Straightforward, and a back-story to add interest. A pleasant ramble.
This was a brilliant crossword. Beautiful clues that somehow managed to be both simple and fun to solve.
Our favourite this year and quite possibly the easiest.

Thanks you Augeas
Very gentle - but very nicely done and good fun to solve.

There is a place for Listeners like this - as the existing coterie of solvers must inevitably atrophy by reason of old age and infirmity, then there need to be some 'entry level' puzzles to encourage new solvers - this is an excellent example and I commend it to anyone thinking of 'having a go'.

Thanks Augeas - interesting subject and a good puzzle.
Beautifully worked puzzle and a fascinating back story. Thank you Augeas
The plea is a favourite phrase in our house, which added an extra layer of enjoyment.
Lovely clues, only some of which were easy. Nice and clear endgame - only an idiot would write down the first letters of the extra words and try to use them. Aah!
Nice to have a gentle Listener to settle down to after a busy weekend entertaining guests. Not a subject I knew anything about but the research required was minimal and it's a fascinating topic. Most enjoyable, thank you Augeas.

I strongly recommend this week's Inquisitor puzzle too.
I did that too Borealis but wasn't going to admit it unless someone else did!
Me Too ...

Hagen, agree about the Inquisitor. Azed for those who like spoonerisms.
Me too!
