As you know HC i'm trying to save some money for another piece of jewellery but i don't want to pay out of pocket, i'd rather try find the money elsewhere.
Oddly.. You could probably make the ring i desire two or three times from the chain i have!
Maybe before i debate listing it.. i should email the maker of the ring to see if he would maybe melt it down, and take the extra silver as payment? Maybe add £20 on top ;)
Your estimate of £60 is a bit over the top as 925 is not fetching £10 an ounce.
Your only hope on ebay is that someone will want it because they like it and pay over the odds for it. Remember ebay and Paypal will want about 15% of what you sell it for. If you still want to sell it, hold onto it for a week or two until the selling fee is only £1.00 for any item, set a reserve on it and see how it goes ?
Or just stick it back in the drawer and leave it there for a few more years.
