I suspect XR didn't really have much of a clue exactly who it was they were *** off yesterday. Far from being yuppie docklands types, the population of Canning Town is largely working class, and here were working people being prevented from doing so by a rag-tag army of middle and middle-upper class protesters who probably have private incomes and nothing else to occupy their time. XR needs the support of the very people they are inconveniencing and would do well to remember that.

dragging someone from a roof onto their back to then lay a few punches into their face with the rest of ur meat head mob mates is different from accidentally kicking someone whilst trying to get on top of the train. Why does it matter what colour they are though? It's irrelevant.

Jackdaw, during the sixties we had similar demonstrations only these were "ban the bomb" people. As well as marches they often demonstrated outside RAF & USAF stations. Thousands arrived at an USAF base and we, RAF personnel, were sent to reinforce the station. At once stage the demonstrators threatened to cut the boundary wire and invade. We drew up three fire tenders filled with foam for aircraft crashes and informed them we intended to use them if they breached the area; adding that the foam contained ox blood and stank to high heaven. ( modern foam is no longer made with blood). Strangely the threat was enough and they all fell back. Slurry sounds just as good. :o)
