Fireworks At Tesco

For those of you who took part in the Firework thread,I've received an email from Tesco today.

Thank you very much for taking the time to email Tesco Customer Services.
I am sorry if you are disappointed that we continue to sell fireworks in our stores. We like to offer our customers the opportunity to celebrate Bonfire Night and we have no plans to cease the sale of fireworks at this time.
I do however appreciate many of the good points you’ve raised and rest assured that I will have your concerns and comments on the matter logged and fed back appropriately. I have no doubt that our Head Office will be monitoring public opinion on this issue very closely. If we do make any changes to our policy, that information will be made publicly available.

I strongly suspect that Sainsburys' decision was more to do with cost and profit.

possibly, Hopkirk; but if your customers want something and you don't stock it, they'll go to Tesco instead; so it's not a simple equation.

Category 4 fireworks aren't sold to the general public because of safety aspects. This implies the authorities have already considered what fireworks people can buy, where, when and how.

If fireworks are banned to the general public should sparklers be also?? They are a category of firework.

So i think people need to not jump the gun, and actually think about this properly. ~~What categories do you want banned for public use?

What do the different categories represent?

If you've no idea.. then i suspect you get one.
