The reason they phone the doctor instead of an ambulance is because of the location. My aunt had a heart attack and the ambulance was 40 mins away, the doctor was 10 minutes away. The doctor phones the ambulance.
I love the programme. I like all the characters.

His 'medical' advice is in reality trash and invented. It is meant to be a giggle. Notice though that the script writers do keep to Government policy. Martin's advice to one patient was in essence: exercise, don't smoke, don't drink and eat healthy foods. Yawn yawn yawn. On the plus side I adore the liberal application of green paint. From surgery to home to chemist shop.
