A short while ago I heard the biggest thunderous crash, and the ground shook, I nearly peed myself, Then I realised that they've just blown the cooling towers up. I got to thinking what it must be like to live in a war zone. Kids must be scared to death.

Depends. Many may be excited and asking why they weren't taken to watch.
Hope winter's not going to be too hot for you now.
I would of thought residents within hearing and blast distance would of been advised first.

Yep we was told it would be at 11am retro, but I forgot all about it:0) It was three towers at the old power station at Ironbridge ( Shropshire)
I thought at first this was going to be about the earthquake suffered in certain parts of the country !
