OG - do I really need to spell it out in words of half a syllable? Boris is toughing it out by repeatedly refusing to appear with Andrew Neil because he is scared as s*** at the prospect. Next Thursday can't come soon enough for him. Little does he realise that it isn't going to be all plain sailing.
Who the hell does Andrew Neil think he is demanding an interview with anybody let alone our Prime Minister. He is a jumped up broadcaster and like so many of them, thinks he is extremely important. He asks people questions for a living, not exactly rocket science is it?
//It's like the Queen saying she won't do a Christmas broadcast this year in the time-honoured tradition.//
Leading politicians being “grilled” by TV interviewers is not a “time honoured tradition”. It is a recent innovation introduced in an attempt to mimic the ridiculous shenanigans that take place in the USA in the run up to a Presidential election.
//These 'interviews' serve no purpose. The politicians should all boycott them.//
Youngmaf is absolutely spot on. These interviews, together with the ludicrous “head to head” debates are a complete farce. Anybody swayed by them frankly should not vote.
Even though many on this post are waiting in the Queue to defend Boris.
He is still an Almighty Coward, and he knows in his own mind, that if he had the guts to face A/N, he would come across as a "Bumbling Idiot"
gulliver....i agree with all you say about Boris and AN however you have heard the saying "the end justifies the means" and next Friday Boris will be PM again and Jeremy will be in the shadow back benches and the means will be justified.
If one has to win ugly, then so be it.
