I have peeled the wallpaper off and left the lining on the wall , would it be ok to paint this , or do I have to put proper lining paper on first.

We done this in our daughters room, used acrylic emulsion, it seemed to soak it in more than lining paper but it looks great, just like lining paper, or plastered wall from a distance.
