Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

8d) If we mind our Ps and Qs, we can't miss these printing features. (9) e-t-n-e-s I think the answer is extenders but can see no cryptic involvement, plus the whole thing seems somewhat vague. What do others think?

Printer's measures are ems or ens so the answer could be entenders, but I still can't fit it to the rest of the clue yet.

As geo 939 posted, extenders are printing features. If you wish to be correct, you would not omit / overlook them.

Thanks - I knew they were to do with printing but they seemed to be inks rather than 'features'. It certainly seems the best answer. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions

It's a 'cryptic definition' type clue - perfectly okay, although no actual 'wordplay' involved.

Incidentally the setter may have made a mistake: he seems to be referring to the 'tails' on lower-case ps and qs - which are normally known as descenders not extenders.
