I just read somewhere that over 70s are asked to self isolate, maybe up to four months. How is this possible if you live on your own

I fetched some shopping for a 91-yr-old lady today - trouble is I'm 70! At least her daughter is only 11 miles away. My nearest is 50 miles away! I'll sneak to the local farm shop (only 6 miles) 'cos no shop in the village.

It creeps up on you, this finding yourself in the 'vulnerable and at risk' group.

I'll tell you though, in this risk averse health and safety nightmare we find ourselves in these days, if the sky doesn't fall soon look out for a distinct lack of cooperation and trouble at t'mill.
No point having troops guarding the Pot Noodles in your local supermarket if they can't and won't lay you out for rampaging, and they won't.
Yes. I liked that one, togo.
I'm sure you don't look a day over 35 Jourdain...
Jourdain...... you’re not over 70 until you’re 71..... ;-)
^^^ Thank you, kind Sir!.. Actually, daughter's Tesco delivery-man last week put me at 55-60...… I asked him to marry me, naturally!
That's what I reckon, gness. :)
With the kids getting fake ID's to show that they're over 18, us fit and healthy oldies will have to get fake ID's to show that we're under 70 !
You all know that I don’t like to boast,
But at 83 I could pass for 59.
Aye, you're a great man, jordy.
Jourdain2- no we dont have a milkman tho that is a good idea. I'm not worried for myself as I'm not 70 so should be allowed out! Ha Ha! But just trying to see things through others eyes.
How could I possibly go into isolation?
Think of the heartbreak it would cause to those who yearn for my company.
My partner will be self isolating she is in a high risk group being diabetic and having a heart problem.
that sounds wise, TonyV. Will you have to do the same rather than risk bringing the virus into the house or will you have to be the one who does all the shopping?
