Funeral Cancelled

Just had a message to say that my husband's cousin, who was going to have her funeral next Tuesday, has been cancelled. This is because of CV. I was only thinking about this a few days ago. I suppose a lot of other families will have to wait until things have settled. Must be upsetting for all concerned..

The Church of England hasn't cancelled all weddings and funerals but it's left up to individual churches, families and funeral directors to come to their own decisions. Other religious groups, such as the Methodists, are simply advising that the numbers of people attending funerals should be kept low (or simply leaving it up to local decisions):

Odd - I hate to be blunt but with so many potentially coming in the pipeline, one would think that they would want to clear their slabs in preparation for the invasion.

I attended a colleague's funeral yesterday on the Isle of White. He died on 19th February. I don't suppose they have much storage fridges for the deceased over there so have to properly and reverently deal with the dead. Only one Crematorium also. The vic started off before the service by saying it wasn't obligatory to shake hands or hug and no offence would be taken. We still mingled in close proximity and the advice on hugs went out the window.
Only one case of Corvid on Widget at the moment. The islander had come back from Italy and was oiked off straight to isolation.

Most Irish funerals are now private, quickly held events with services planned for ‘down the road’ when the crisis has passed.
