I propose that instead of being at the back of the queue for treatment as they are at the moment, the over-70s should go at the front of the queue because they're the ones who have followed the guidelines re isolation. The boneheads who are ignoring it should be at the far back of the queue, or even booted out of it altogether since they will only be endangering NHS and other Health workers.

Sweeping generalisation again, not all who should have self isolated have done so - in all age ranges and levels of vulnerability.
Good lord.

Are you seriously proposing to prioritise those least likely to survive a bout of coronavirus?
'booted out' reminds me of my ill son's phone call today. He pushed his wheel chair to the door & refused entry to visitors to his ward as nurses complained they were being put at risk.
What a strange proposal, Canary.

Anyone falling desperately ill with this horrible virus needs treating as they arrive at A&E rather than in line with any artibrary demographics.
Not everyone can self isolate. I live with a nurse, she's needed by the NHS.

Go to B&Q, it's like the jolly boy's outing.
What about the homeless? They can't self-isolate.

I agree entirely, but it won't happen. You, and others, have missed my point. Triage will be applied at an overrun A&E, and not everyone will be treated. I accept my statement was an over-simplification, and thousands of others are deserving of treatment, but I am increasingly frustrated by the actions of the people who are making the situation far worse but who will undoubtedly have priority over people like me who have observed self-isolation for weeks now, and will continue to do so to the best of their ability. And their reward - "Die, we're too busy looking after people who didn't help themselves."
Do you live alone, Canary?

Yes, why not. Those most likely to survive, will probably survive. I suppose euthanasia is next on your list.
Question Author
Yes ummmm. Why ?
Because it's easy to self isolate if you live alone. I've been poorly so haven't been out the house for 3 weeks but I live with other people and they are going to work as normal.
I'm trying not to be judgemental at the moment but canary, me old china, you are completely round the twist.

Sorry to hear you're poorly, I hope you get better soon. I did say my remarks were an over-simplification and I respect that many will find it difficult. I certainly wasn't pointing the finger at you, but at the thousands who ignored advice purely for their own gratification.

Usual insults in place of reasoned debate. I wonder why am I not surprised.
that is not triage

I dont think I have ever heard of someone ( who is in the crud age group) saying treat the crud first
no one is obliged to give futile treatment

triage is walking wounded, hospitalise and likely to die
and usually works quite well in skilled hands

phenomenally well in Manchester arena
but that might have been to the largely due to the unrecognized actions of the doctor in charge Dr Michael Daly ( and the pin pt accurate actions of the services who stayed and didnt run away)

AB midnight madness I think
I reckon if I rocked up to A&E in a ambulance they would of tattooed DNR on my forehead before shoving a thermometer where it hurts. :-)
I'm afraid if push comes to shove, 'they're' more likely to save productive members of society.
I warned you old people when you were all saying you'd ignore Government advice a couple of weeks ago.
