When I started working for them in May 1978, Byrom Street & Whitechapel had gone. Pembroke Place was a bicycle shop and Moor Place (opposite Copperas Hill Police station) was Motorcycle sales, parts and workshops. The company by this time had been sold to Mike Weston who had motorcycle shops in Grange Mount, Birkenhead & Hoylake Road, Moreton.
In March 1980 the Pembroke Place branch was sold to Horsmans who also took the furniture shop next door. The shops had an inter connecting doorway put in to make a new Motorcycle and Bicycle showroom called Horsmans Bikersworld. Horsmans also bought The Bee Cycle & Motor Co in Renshaw Street. Mike Weston later sold the business in Moor Place (the Wirral branches had closed) and ran a decorators shop yards away from his old Motorcycle showroom in Grange Road West, Birkenhead. Horsmans eventually went bust in very late 1982. As far as I was aware in 1978 no records of the original Cundles business were in existence.
