Well, given that we don’t have deep fried bat in the UK, Chinese or otherwise, I doubt that’s the problem!
Maybe your local Chinese aren’t getting enough custom to make it worth their while to open because people think they’re going to serve up bat. Ridiculous.
Ours are open as usual for ring up takeaways.
The two chippies are open in our village, queue out side 2 metres apart of course and only 2 customers at a time inside. The Indian and the Chinese takeaway's are doing delivery only.
Are you sure that the Chinese takeaways in your road aren't doing delivery only, jj. The one in our village doesn't open it's door, you have to phone with your order.
Most proprietors of Chinese takeaways in Northern Ireland are Hong Kong Chinese. Making allusions to bats is way off the mark, as the virus did not originate in Hong Kong. It originated in mainland China, which is a long, long way away from Hong Kong and a different culture altogether.
All of our takeaways are open with the exception of Chinese. Neither of them are open, and I'm not sure if it's lack of demand or a business decision. I'm betting it's lack of demand as before this pandemic they were always quite busy.
There are two Chinese takeaways in the area where I live. The one that has closed is the one where the proprietors went to China for a month for Chinese New Year, the other remains open.
Are your chippies etc opened where you live.
One is, one isn't.
(I'm unsure about etc. Last night was the first take-away I've had for months, maybe years.)
