This is admittedly a follow-up to this thread I made earlier:https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/ChatterBank/Question1692967.html

But I wanted to ask this separately to help the males in this situation know what to do if he is actually offered to be in a relationship right in front of him and he has to answer at that moment.

Should he say no to avoid the risk of the relationship exploding in his face (shrinking his self-esteem even more), or should he risk it all and say yes?

The famous quote from Alfred Lord Tennyson, "'tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" is particularly relevant.
MM, do you know at is worse? Sitting around in years to come, wondering "What if..?"

Just go for it. If things go wrong, use it as experience for the future. Despite all your self perceived flaws, the girl obviously likes you. You will lose that if you don't accept. Time to take the plunge.
It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
If the lady is genuinely interested in you set aside your doubts and embrace the experience. Tell her about your issues but dont overlabour it. Good luck.
I just like to say that I am with prudie on this.
And it’s a pity Jeremy Kyle is no longer functioning,
An ideal problem for him.
The very fact that this woman, who you say you love, is interested in you should boost your self esteem no end. Sure, if it doesn't pan out your self esteem takes a knock but you will learn from the experience, move on and try again. Be brave and dip your toe in. The water may be just the right temperature.

In these cases, the woman barely knows the man and just only finds him physically appealing or that the guy was able to show some kind of normal/confident attitude. It’s not until she gets closer with the guy that she realizes the faults (hence where the relationship could potentially implode.

It’s why I ask if they guy should risk it or not, but you did answer, so thanks.
Another quote/proverb- "nothing ventured, nothing gained"
Of course you should take a chance. You have nothing to lose.

It does begged the question though, it you barely know one another, how can you say that you love her? Infatuated, maybe, but love? No disrespect MM, but I think you have a great deal to learn about that subject.
Better to have loved and lost than live with a crackpot the rest of your life!
