avi to dvd

Whats the best software for converting AVi files to DVD (Vob) files? I am using Win AVI Converter but something is not working correctly. Is there a user guide? Or is there a better software out there?

depends what you're trying to convert.
If it's a single avi movie for dvd, WinAVI is the best I've come across.
If you're trying to convert, say 6, episodes for burning onto 1 disc, I still use Nero (even though it take forever) because WinAVI tries to put them all as one movie ont he disc.

a mate is downloading AVI films off the net and then using Win AVI COnverter to convert the AVI to DVD. The problem he is having is that the dvd only works in one of his dvd players and not the others. He has also said that when the dvd starts up its says VTS.

Any ideas???

my standalone dvd player wont play copied dvds.
I have to use the playstation to play them.

Not sure what the VTS is about.
