I am just parting with mine a mitigating factor is high use of fuel 2.3 auto petrol engine. I get about 250 ish miles for fifty five quid. Also we have had one in the family since 97. So Mummy is treating herself to a bmw soft top - but I will miss the versatility of the 'bus' .
Tyres have to be reinforced and can cost a bomb check out condition before buying, to avoid unforseen expense. The other thing is to ask/ check for your self if the passenger footwell is wet after a shower of rain this was a problem for me and a couple of school run mums who had R and S plate cars. Not a problem in my later model one tho ( 02 ) but also check that the back window wiper fires water on window not into pass footwell. If there is a break in that pipe it is obvious as no water gets to back window, but the front is fine.
In all honesty we found it to be brill apart from that . If I was buying one again I would only go for a diesel for sure.
